Mark F. Sommer, D.D.S.
Dr. Sommer attended Brooklyn College of the City University of NY and earned a BS in Biological Sciences cum laude in 1978. He went on to attend the New York University College of Dentistry earning his D.D.S. degree in 1982. After dental school, Dr. Sommer continued his dental training at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and was awarded a certificate for the completion of a General Practice Residency Program
Dr. Sommer is a member in good standing of the Nassau County Dental Society, The NYS Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Believing strongly in the value of continuing dental education, Dr. Sommer is an active member of the Atlantic Beach Continuum for Dental Education, formerly the Peninsula Hospital Dental Society, The Eastern Queens Dental Study Group and the Lake Success ITI Implant Study Group. Dr. Sommer receives well over 50 hours of continuing education credits each year in subjects such as implant dentistry, esthetic dentistry, dental materials science and adhesive dentistry.
Dr. Sommer is a former member of the clinical faculty of the Jamaica Hospital Dental Department teaching Endodontics to the general dental practice residents.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Sommer enjoys skiing, golf, photography and travel with his wife of 33 years, Dr. Lori Sommer and his three children.
Lori Sommer, D.D.S.
Dr. Lori Sommer graduated from Brooklyn College of the City University of NY in 1980 with a BS degree in Psychology cum laude. She then attended the New York University College of Dentistry earning her D.D.S. degree in 1984.
Dr. Lori Sommer practices on a part time basis providing comprehensive exams, dental prophylaxis and home care education. Dr. Lori also performs all in office bleaching therapies.
Dr. Lori Sommer is a former staff member of the Peninsula Hospital Dental Clinic as well as the Jamaica Hospital Dental Clinic where she staffed the Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Future mobile dental van, visiting elementary schools in Queens and performing dental screenings and teaching home care to the students. She is also a member of the Eastern Queens Dental Study Group.
In her time out of the office Lori enjoys cooking, traveling and crafting as well as being the proud mother of her three children.
Bonnie Jacobs: Office Manager
Bonnie has a long history in the dental field. Originally trained as a hygienist at the University of Maryland, Bonnie found her true passion as a dental office administrator and manager.
Bonnie is an expert in handling dental insurance matters and endeavors to make sure that our patients get the most out their dental benefits. Bonnie will be happy to address any questions about appointments, billing, payment plans, insurance eligibility and benefits.
Bonnie is married with two children and enjoys cooking and dining out in her spare time.
Roxane Pandya: Dental Assistant
Roxane has been a dental assistant for over 20 years having worked in specialty and general practice offices. She is skilled in assisting in all phases of treatment in our office and is also responsible for the sterilization of our instruments and preparation of our treatment rooms which are kept in pristine condition. Other duties include ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, coordinating dental lab cases and constant monitoring of our sterilizer to insure that our sterilization regimen is maintained at the highest possible levels.
Roxane enjoys her time in the garden in her off time.
